Family Fun Weekend!

This was our Family Fun Weekend. And as you can see we really did have lots of fun. The pictures are posted in the opposite order of what happened, but I don't really care to fix them.

We started out the weekend with an adult game night with all the siblings and their spouse. We played "The Party

Game of Curses" which by the ways is super fun. Our favorite part was our screaming, fainting, tongue-biting, Super Girl! And also Thomas' wonderful cheerleading show! Good times making fools of ourselves. What we are good at right?

We then went to the Planetarium at the Gateway and had some fun. Then of course we had to go to the water fountains and get ourselves nice and wet. The kids loved it.

Later that night we all went up the canyon for a camp fire and songs. Carrie had a wonderful song where Will showed his crazy side for all of us to enjoy. And thanks to Jason for the guitar and music we all got to participate in, Chellie as well!

Saturday was busy with playing games, Rock Band was our fav. We also did some fun crafts. Check out Noah's cool visor that he is sporting.

Later we played games outside, "Duck off a rock" was one of the fun ones pictured, as well as watermelon eating.

Good times.

Summer Catch-up - Lagoon

This is my honey, doesn't he look like he just loves those swings?

Our family is enjoying our day of fun at the Lagoon.

We were lucky enough to spend it with our family; Bart, Lisa and their two adorable kids Livie and Jerem. Oh the fun!

Got MILK!

So I decided that my little baby girl is so smart. Today she was really cranky. So I looked over and she signed Milk! (See here how it is done: http://babystrology.blogspot.com/2008/03/baby-sign-language-milk.html)

I was proud of her. Noah didn't produce his first sign until he was over a year and she is just 10 months old. They do say girl's communication part of the brain develops faster than a boy's. My little Gwen is just proof that is true!

For those of you who don't know I got my degree in American Sign Language, so it makes me really happy when my children are able to sign as well. Plus it is nice for them to communicate when they can't speak yet.

Oh, she also signs "done" or "finished" when she is done eating at her high chair. She has been doing this one for a while now. So I guess Milk isn't her first sign, but she did it without me even prompting her. WAY TO GO MY LITTLE GENIUS!

That is all for now. I just had to brag a little.

Binky = Goodnight Sleep for Mommy & Baby!

So Gwen is almost 10-months old and you think she would be able to sleep through the night without a feeding, but I have only been lucky that way a select few times. Well last night I was done. When she woke up crying after only sleeping 4 hours I refused to go in and nurse her.

Well earlier that night when Jason was getting her out of the car she started to cry and we found out that she wanted her binky. I have mostly been just giving it to her to play with. Both my kids never showed interest in a binky and I didn't care to push it on them at all.

Well apparently I have a binky baby now. I think she just needs something to suck on to comfort her back to sleep and I don't care one little bit. Granted I may eat my words when she is older and I can't get her to give up the thing, but for now I will enjoy my sleep and my happy baby!

Also working on the weaning thing. I love nursing, but I think I am nearing the end. Hopefully Gwen will not be too upset about the whole thing!
