Jason and I just got back from our first cruise to Key West and Cozumel. We had a wonderful time on the ship, parasailing in Key West and shopping and hanging out at the beach in Cozumel.
The last day, Sunday, we sailed back to Tampa, Florida all day long. Well we were planning on hanging out at the pool all day and soaking up all the sun, but there was no sun to be soaked! We had 25 to 30-ft. swells and we didn't dare go far from our room. We did venture out and play Apples to Apples with a large fun group for a few hours, that took my mind off the crazy swaying boat. We were able to go to dinner, that was in the middle of the boat so at least the movement wasn't as much as the front or back. We had to pack and have our bags out of our door by 11pm, so we packed for a while, then had to rest, then pack again. Needless to day it took us quite a while to do this easy task.
That evening there was a show for ending the cruise, we didn't make that, but my sister and I (my sister Trish and Julie were on the cruise as well, it was Trish's work cruise) tried to venture out a little for the Karaoke finals. I made it about ten minutes because the theater is at the front of the boat and the swells were so big I was trying my best not to loose it. So I decided to go back. I cannot tell you how many people I ran into or hung onto while walking back to my room. Quite the experience.
Jason claims we won't go on a cruise again, but maybe quite a few years down the road we can think about it again.
Pictures to come...

Oh I feel for you! That sounds a lot like my honeymoon. We went on a cruise right at the end of the awful hurricane season of 2005. I couldn't stay in our room for more than a few minutes without getting queasy. I spent a lot of time in the arcade, and in the casino even though I don't like playing slot machines, and pretty much anyplace where everything was bolted down.
It sounds like you still had fun though. In a few years you will only remember the good parts of the trip. That is until a friend blogs about her equally awful cruise experience!
Wow, that sounds crazy! Every time I think we should go on a cruise, I wonder how seasick I would get and if it would be worth it, and in this case I'm not sure it would be! I'm glad you're back on solid ground and had some good times, though!
I hope to see you guys in your "cruise wear" too.
I fear cruises for that very reason and have yet to venture out and do one. When we were in Maui we went on an excursion to Molikini Crater in a boat to go snorkeling. Instead of snorkeling and looking at the fish I got to feed the fish over the side of the boat with my barf because the boat ride there made m esick. Oh, but ho wthe fish loved my throw up. It was interesting. Im torn. I would love it, but i would have to get some kind of medication for it. Can't wait for your pics!
I want to see pictures! I have wanted to go on a cruise for ages, but we never make it. Oh well. Thanks for all your nice comments on my blog by the way. And seriously, no diet secrets, just tricky photography. You are too sweet to make me feel so good about myself!
